Germany’s future in Europe and the world will in no small part depend on how it will continue to address its various pasts. This is particularly important this year, as 2020 marks the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II and the 30th anniversary of the unification of Germany. With generous funding from the German Embassy, Arizona State University will present five lectures on memory of 1945 and 1990 and their impact on building tomorrow.  This lectures series will feature Wulf Kansteiner (University of Aarhus, Denmark), Henry Thompson (ASU), Birgit Bauriedl (University of Regensburg, Germany), Daniel Ziblatt (Harvard University), and Stephen Pfaff (University of Washington).
